Notes on the Day - 7/18/2023

  • I highly recommend a bit of focused intention setting at the beginning of each day. I've been doing 10 minutes each morning before work, focusing on the main barrier to me having a great day. It has been helping a great deal.
  • The Plex library I've been building is coming together pretty well. I learned, after some testing last night, that the Plex app on AppleTV is kinda garbage. I like the app just fine for organization and display, but the playback doesn't process DolbyVision? Infuse is the app to use. I'll have to hold my nose at the look and feel. The picture quality is worth it.
  • The Diamondbacks are suddenly in third place. Nature is healing.
    • The Padres are still the Padres until they prove they are not the Padres.
  • Reading something just reminded me of how bad the Star Wars prequels are. It's kind of remarkable how bad they are after the sequels actually proved you could still do decent Star Wars movies. That the Star Wars movies have as much cultural significance after those debacles is proof that you really only need to be great once to be remembered forever.
