What I did: September 2023

Here are the things I watched, saw, listened to, read, did, or whatever in the month of September 2023.

  • USC-Nevada, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, September2, 2023 -- Final score: USC 66, Nevada 14 -- USC is good, Nevada is bad. USC fans were disappointing--way too many that simply didn't seem to respect the game much. Mad at their team simply getting beat on a play or two, totally weirdly defiant about a pretty textbook, you can teach by this, targeting call, and definitely not as friendly as other places I've been. It's all fine--just something I noticed.
  • Dodgers-Braves, Dodger Stadium, September 3, 2023 -- Final score: Dodgers 3, Braves 1 -- Brutal weekend barely salvaged by a stellar performance from rookie Bobby Miller and a few timely base hits. Seats were on the field level, section 101, Row O. I would sit there again.

  • The After Party, Season 2 -- This show is good and funny.
  • Castle Rock, Season 1 -- I want very much to love this show, but Season 1 came across as too fan-servicey and confusing. I'll watch the second season, but probably because I know that's all that's left.
  • Buck Rogers in the 25th Century -- Good god does this show not hold up.

  • Two days at Disneyland/Disney California Adventure -- The Star Wars stuff is cool. Disneyland is still and has always been a favorite place of mine. I went enough as a kid to love it, and I go enough as an adult to really appreciate it. If I had one piece of advice to give, it's that you'll need less time in California Adventure than you think, and if that means you don't go, it won't matter much. However, the World of Color show at California Adventure is great.
